Scenes From the Open Studio

Hope you are enjoying your fall. Can you believe it Christmas Holiday time is right around the corner? OK, I'll try not to rush the season. So in the meantime, been looking through photo shots of the recent Open Studio Tour and want to share a few with you. Krista and I had so much fun! Thanks to all of you who stopped by to visit with us. This is the best job in the whole world and it's because of you my dear friends and collectors! Thank you so much for all your encouraging comments and your belief in me and my creative efforts!

What were we talking about?

5 Things To Do Before Open Studio Tour

It's the first day of the Open Studio Tour and for weeks now I've been making check lists of important things to do. Here's my must do list for today as I get ready to open the doors at 10AM:
1. Put out big easy to see yellow direction signs in front of the studio and on street corners.
2. Make sure there are plenty of yummy cookies (chocolate), a pot of fresh brewed coffee and an enticing selection of tea for refreshments.
3. Have stamp and punch cards handy and ready to pass out to visitors. It's a chance to win one of five $50 Gift Certificates. No purchase required, all you do is visit 7 different studios, have your card stamped and enter!
4. Make sure the studio is stocked with plenty of good things to look at and to purchase, especially gift items.
5. Finally and most importantly, smile and have fun, hope to see you all this weekend!

Award Winning News!

Remember the painting I blogged about back in September that was chosen by nationally known artist and juror Robbie Laird for the Watercolor Society of Oregon's Fall Show? The convention was held this last weekend and to my very pleasant surprise, my painting won 2nd place!

Finding out for the first time there was a red ribbon
hanging next my painting!

What fun! The banquet was held in at the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum in McMinnville, OR, which a must see for anyone visiting Oregon. It is located in the heart of the Willamette Valley's wine country and just happens to be the home of Howard Hughes' famous Spruce Goose.
The paintings will be on exhibition at the museum through the end of October. You will not be disappointed. This show of 80 paintings is full of a group of very talented artists and I'm so very honored to be a small part of it.
